“Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,”  GLaWAC’s new Energy Strategy was proudly launched at the Gippsland New Energy Conference.

“Learn from yesterday, be proactive today, and aim for a strong, healthy mob and Country for tomorrow.”

GLaWAC sees a future in which the energy industry invests thoughtfully in a thriving and prosperous Gunaikurnai community and protects the land and waters on which it relies.

Featuring artwork by Robbie Farnham, Gippsland Land and Water Aboriginal Corporation’s Energy Strategy makes very clear that they are committed to getting good outcomes for mob by negotiating with industry and government.

It also lays out what their goals are for mob:

  • More opportunities for jobs, training and business.
  • The chance to heal Country damaged by old energy systems.
  • Greater authority in how projects are planned and approved.
  • Stronger protection for cultural heritage and Country.
  • Fair benefits from projects happening on our Country.
  • Support for families to navigate changing energy costs and technologies.
